Corporate Code of         Conduct

June 9, 2008

The Company has rolled out a new code of conduct at the corporate level, this letter is to inform the membership of our stance and concerns with these work rules being shoved down our throat’s. During negotiations at the Sheraton in Charlotte, back in 2007, we asked the Company if they wanted to negotiate a code of conduct and they declined. Within the last 6 months or so the plant management team and the complete Rep committee negotiated a new code of conduct for our facility which was at the point of setting a date to implement. At that point Corporate HR got wind of it and put a stop to it, they were going to develop a code of conduct for all the facilities. This Corporate version is to broad and vague, it gives the Company the ability to discipline for pretty much anything they want. The day this policy is implemented at our facility I will put a policy grievance in place against the Corporate version of the code of conduct, your District Rep will also put individual grievances in place for any discipline given to employees that differs from what we negotiated. I am posting the code of conduct we negotiated for information purposes only, not all the differences are obvious, some of the differences between the 2 documents are in the way and level of discipline the Company intends to give the employee.

The Committee and I need your support to tell Corporate they can’t shove this new code of conduct down our throat, they must negotiate changes at this facility.
