      The ventilation system has been completed in the Robot welding area.

       The problem of Carbon Monoxide levels in the plant, especially in the E-coat area is a major concern, and we have installed exhaust fans (Three) one at the big Line, and two at the E-Coat area. We also have taken a few older Fork lifts out of service or repaired them to help reduce CO. This will be monitored very closely from now on.

      OSHA inspectors gave us a visit last week and took some air samples throughout the big line and E/Coat. They inspected the machine guarding on the press line as well. We will have a meeting with them the week of 9-26-05 and I will let every one know what the out come is.

      We are in the process of making available at Gasonline all MSDS sheets for all chemicals we have at Gastonia PMP. It will provide our members immediate access to all chemicals we may come in contact with.

      We have installed three additional Big Fans one in the machine shop, one in shipping and another in the press brake area.

       I would like to know if you are satisfied with our new shoe supplier Red Wing. I welcome your comments or suggestions. I would personally like to take this time extend a welcome to any new members we have and invite all to become part of our Local Union.
