A Word from the Vice President

Dear union Brothers and Sisters, First I would like to thank this membership for giving me the opportunity to be your Vice President. With that being said I would like to give you a little information about me. I am from Cherryville NC, I have two precious children, Bradley McGill10, and Kayla McGill 8, I have been employed with Freightliner for ten years, and before being elected to my new position, as Vice President I was a Union steward on 3rd shift for 2 years and became very educated about the UAW and learned what they were able to do for us. Since the UAW has became part of our plant there has been a lot of changes, such as we now have Weingarten Rights which entitles you fair representation concerning your working conditions, or being disciplined, or terminated, this was something we never had before.  I encourage anybody that does not know what this is to ask any of your local union officers to explain it to you. In closing as you all know our contract will expire on March 31, this year.  But I have no doubts in all the faith that our president and shop chair along with the bargaining committee will negotiate this membership a fair and equitable contract.                                                                                                                                                                                                                     Words of wisdom always
