Tulip Warehouse Staffing |
||
|
There have been some questions as to the way the Tulip Warehouse is to be staffed, to put it simply, it is being staffed as close to the contract language as possible. The Company refused to open the contract and add a new workgroup, at that point the only alternative was to add them to one of the existing workgroups (Main Plant Workgroup). The Company made it very clear they were reducing the raw materials and coil desk responsibility’s from the main plant and moving them to the Tulip Warehouse. Materials positions are still filled as job specific because the implementation team has not made it to them on the list called out for in the LOU on page 208. If the materials group were already rotating and had dissolved the floater’s as called for in the TOS implementation described on page 208 then the employees moving to Tulip would have had to be selected by most senior volunteer/least senior mandatory. When Delta Warehouse was leased the Company was adding head count and materials was solicited by volunteers to move to Delta, that is not the case with Tulip, they are reducing specific jobs and moving them to the new location. This could be the same scenario if they built a new building on Freightliner property and moved parts of the machine shop or pressline operations into it. Who moved to the new location would depend on what was moving and whether or not TOS had been implemented in the area yet, this situation would be looked at and the appropriate language would be applied, as it has in the current situation with the Tulip Warehouse.
